Whenever I vacation, I always check Airbnb before booking a hotel. 9 times out of 10 they are significantly cheaper than a hotel, and the quality is usually above average since they are based on user ratings of the host and the place.
Airbnb is really the greatest of all time when it comes to cheap but good accommodation. If you are on a tight budget, the “single room” option is perfect. You stay in someone’s spare bedroom. You can even find a lot with a private bathroom as well. This can cost anywhere from $15-$40 a night no problem.
If you don’t like the idea of sleeping in a stranger’s house and are down to pay a little more, you can go for the “entire place” option. You will be given the keys or code and the place will be yours. This can cost anywhere from $30-70 depending on the specific details of your trip.
When booking on Airbnb: The further you are from any major tourist points or historic centers, the cheaper the price is going to be. Consider spending $5 on transportation or walking a mile or so for an Airbnb a little further out and save $40 a night.
Instead of spending like $600 bucks on a week long vacation, you can save $350+ by using Airbnb.
